by Teresina Moscatiello and Jakob Rühle
Trastevere used to be Rome's working-class neighbourhood, which of course makes it a nostalgic tourist attraction. Large parts of the bustling but quaint old world streets and alleys have been preserved, mainly because the Romans just love this area. In the laid back Bar San Calisto you'll meet lots of locals, plus find good coffee and delicious homemade ice cream.
