If you take a promenade through this lovely Quarter, don't forget to visit the church St. Anne-de-la-Butte-aux-Cailles (188, Rue Tolbiac) and the Fontaine Wallace at the corner of Rue de la Butte-aux-Cailles and Rue de l'Espérance. On Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday there's a great little market on the Boulevard Blanqui. When you have some free time, have a bath in the Piscine de la Butte-aux-Cailles, 5 Place Paul Verlaine. This baths was built 1922 - 1924 in an Art-déco style and is definitely worth a peek and a soak!

This district is an absolut young people's place. You can go there to every time of the day. When the night begins more and more students come for a glass of wine. Join in if you want to get in touch with french students.
