This green spot in the city is famous for its political roots (the site of many rallies and demonstrations over the years) as well as for hosting the city’s largest green market in their park, all in a bustling residential and commercial neighborhood. This park has been the city's primary gathering point for memorial services after 9/11, and hosts a fine collection of statues from George Washington to a serene Gandhi who is usually wreathed with flowers in the southwest corner of the park.
